DxO has released DxO PureRAW, a new app for processing RAW files before further editing in Photoshop or Lightroom. This new product promises to optimize RAW files before further editing in other applications such as Adobe PS and LR.
This product is primarily aimed at photography enthusiasts and professionals who prefer working with RAW files rather than JPGs. Adding this into a workflow promises to optimize the information contained in a RAW file as a first step.
Optimization functions include noise reduction, lens correction, detail enhancement, and bokeh grain removal. We plan to add a DxO PureRAW review in the near future.
About DxO PureRAW
The idea behind DxO PureRAW is to prepare the files before retouching or editing them in Photoshop, Lightroom, or other programs. DxO PureRAW uses their exclusive demosaicing, denoising, and lens defect correction technologies. DxO claims that PureRAW will “convert your RAW files into DNG files in just a few clicks—all without sliders or complex adjustments“.
According to DxO; “PureRAW’s artificial intelligence strikes the perfect balance between preserving detail and eliminating noise. DeepPRIME technology solves these problems before you and better than you.“
DxO PureRAW is available at an introductory rate of $89.99 (until May 3, 2021) and also offers a FREE Trial option.
About DxO
DxO creates Lightroom and Photoshop plugins for photographers and digital artists. Their products target experienced photographers who demand the best editing products for their photos.
DxO took over the development of the NIK editing tools previously offered by Google, and is now available for purchase as the NIK Collection 3. This collection of plugins provides a comprehensive editing suite for all types of image editing.
DxO PhotoLab 4, an editing suite for expert and pro photographers, is also part of their Photoshop plugins lineup.
DxO PureRAW could be a useful and complimentary product for photographers who already use other DxO apps, the PhotoLab 4.
